Phil, I don't have any photos of the side valve 4-stroke engine but better than that I'll bring it with me to Owston. I nearly bought one of the early prototype RSV engines at a model weekend show just before I gave up the hobby. I think they were about £120 at the time and when the designer was mak...

I have a collection of very interesting engines all designed for model airoplanes and all fitted with carbs. The largest being a 0.6cubic inch (10cc) single cylinder side valve 4-stroke engine hand made and machined from aluminium billet. This will swing a 15" dia prop at around 10,000 RPM. and...

I agree with you. Why put a posting about IPod download links on a thread about Vinyl?

Very fishy.

Andrew,

If the CD/DVD is still for sale for a tenner I'll take it, please.

Can you bring it to Owston and I'll settle up with you there?

Cheers

I wouldn't exactly say she was a babe. More the mothering type.

Only my opinion. But then what do I know.

I sympathise with Nick here.
She was rather the worse for drink and I would have bet if Nick took her up on the attentions her drunk husband/partner would no doubt have joined in.
SCAREY!

But then....................... :?:

Simon, got the CAD file thanks. :) Will, thanks for the link for the support spikes. :) I've sent the ebay seller a email how to buy more than 1-set without incurring double/treble p&p charges. I see the auction is for 4-spikes though you only pay for three. If I am going for a removable arm bo...

Simon, Any chance you can email me a copy the CAD file you did for the 401? A mate at work has just given me a 401 for a winter project. It needs a thorough strip down and service with lots of L&TC. However, he says there is no slop in the main bearing and runs just fine, it's just that i...

Don't get me started on big Italian Bikes now. I still haven't got my Aprilia ETV1000 back from the repairers since my accident in mid July. Most of the parts are still on back order with the factory and they don't expect to get the bike finished before mid November. Wonderful bike though it is, get...

For me in my youth the deck I lusted after was the Mitchell Hydraulic Reference. I remember it took me several months to save up for it and go along to Nottingham HiFi and buy one. The pity is the Mitchell arm didn't get that much praise from the then hifi press and the arm to have was the SME 3009....

Sounded a bit like an expensive tranny radio at first, all tinny and no bass. Definitely, would have caught me out if you hadn't mentioned it. Ah! yes Andrew but, you have heard them when fully ran in and you know they can do bass. Stick with it mate. I cheated a little with mine. After they had ha...

Thanks Greg, Al and Max. I'll certainly consider some BMF types for the cartridge load and other critical locations and likely go for Kiwames in the other positions unless a Mills non inductive wirewound is called for. I'll touch base with AndrewL on this as he designed the phono stage for me. I lik...

Resistors

My apologies if this has been covered before, but I hope it will stimulate some debate and personal experiences. My question is does it make a difference to the sound quality if one uses say bog standard Maplin 0.6W 1% MF resistors as opposed one of the more notable / exotic brands around of the lik...
