No, they do that all the time, think the emos copied it from them.

They are very good at looking aloof.

Saluki

Many dogs will run and chase a ball you throw for them. Salukis will look at you and wonder why you don't want the ball any more.

It occurs to me (cos have thought about it before) could have a couple of wires in the umbilical that are just a 'U' loop link, at the PSU end this loop completes a circuit for a relay coil or summat like that. On the mains live say. So it am do not work at all if unplugged. . Yep (as you may guess...

Yep, I did that for the 2kv or so output of the direct coupled 813 amp for Ali, but I was thinking more in terms of stuff for other folk, or that would be used by others. If you make the umbilical fixed at the amp end then the connector end is not live if disconnected accidentally. Ok, you turn on t...

In that Caps need stacking and resistors become kindling for the fire etc etc etc?

DTB
Also in terms of availability of plugs and sockets that are safe at that voltage, and what happens if one end is left unconnected.

Ah, regulate the PS for instance?
Or split LC from a common point and have a LC stage for each chan.

I read an article that said bypass caps help remove the AC component from a DC voltage so the theory sounds OK And bypassed caps do that more than just caps in just what way? Bypassing is normally to make up for faults in the cap being bypassed (esr, esi etc), if you are starting with a expensive c...

pre65 wrote:In fact I would probably just use 8R as thats what my speakers are.
But thats Dave's point, while the speakers say 8R, thats just a nominal value, their actual impedance will vary depending on the box they are in and the frequency of the driving signal.

Yes, the second triode is intended to drive field coils so is nice and linear, the first is not aimed at chokes, other than as part of a tuned circuit as a oscillator. Doesn't stop it working well with them though.
