Yep, thats right. why not start with a simple amp like you have, c3g pentode to 2a3. Ac heating. You have some TX's that will be ok for the 2a3, or you could go upmarket and get a pair of James. Get all that working, then just play, see what each change sounds like, like Steve did, vary a lot of th...

Oh but you shouldn't wish the summer away! What was all that waxing down of your skateboard for if not to crown gorgeous golden summer evenings with high flying antics on and off the board? Rest assured Mr I that my board is being well ridden this summer, this comming weekend we've got the biggest ...

Hi DTB, if you go with PT15 i will donate the two used ones i have for the project. Thats a very kind offer Philip, thanks matey. I'll bear it in mind. But Dave, what do you "want" to build? Despite your attempt to project the image of a bumbleing fool, I know in your zen nature, there is...

Next project?

Well, I'm looking towards the winter and a project/s. I've got a few lined up to keep me busy over winter but what I'd really like to plan for is another amp build. Having lived with 6B4G and 6EM7 for longer than I've actually used WD88VA I'm looking at possibly selling it and freeing up a bit of ca...

Thanks for sending the LEDs Dave. I feel slightly guilty that they did not give the sound I wanted but I've a phono stage coming up after the PX25 boxed build and the big Metronomes, so they'll probably come in handy for that one. Steve No problem Steve, if you didn't try you would know would you? ...

300B cct diagram resource.

Hello, I don't know if anyone has seen this resource before for 300B cct diagrams? I was browsing eBay looking to see what o/p TX are out there in DIY-land and found a seller who sells SPWound TX kits, pricey but UK made (I think). I followed the link and lo and behold found the link below Thought i...

Wow, what a atrange output stage, I will have to stare at that for a while. http://www.lurcher.org/nick/AG9015.pdf I think the way the OP TX's are drawn doesn't help things. We used to repair amongst other things N-series Phillips Cassette recorders in my first place of employ and the accompanying ...

We've been burglarized this year to the tune of a bit of copper piping on the external wall of our house. It was about 5ft long and 15mm in diameter. If anyone see's it met me know please. The CH engineer laffed when I told him, he reckoned its very common.
