You think thats daft, try changing a main beam bulb on a mk1 ford ka!
You need tiny tiny baby hands and to be a professional contortionist, or take out the arch liner to get at it.

Re: backwards to the future
Steve, would either of my type 3 lencos be of use? The great big one and the one i had the linear arm on are not in use at the moment. Equivalent to your 88 if you wanted to borrow either of them to use. Save you having to bugger about making a plinth. The big one is cream chassis and dark oak plint...

Re: what are you doing ?
Interestingly, the arm/cart/jbe combo sounds more immediate, abit more dynamic and abit more forward than the lenco/arm/cart does. The bass is a little deeper, thats because i have set it up so the cart isnt slightly nose down this time, but it hasn't lost anything from being set up this way The mor...

Re: what are you doing ?
I got abit bored today and was tidying through a load of my many boxes bits and pieces. I was chucking bits and pieces that have been in one of the boxes for god knows how long. I found a small 5 pin locking connector, which set wheels turning, so I decided to replace the awful old connector on the ...

Re: Another speaker thread
I can remember mi dad having some of the original ones, kht 2001 i think about 20 years ago, a pair of the eggs and a sub. I think the eggs stood on the window sill and the sub was somewhere out of the way Always liked them, i always wondered what the uni q driver would have sounded like in a metron...

Re: Reel to reel
Found another little problem this morning. I opened it up again as I realised I hadn't oiled the motor. I'd had it on my list, but not ticked it off. I tend to look at a job for a while first thing before I do anything, then write everything down as a checklist these days with the kids being in all ...

Re: Reel to reel
Well the restoration on this machine is now complete. Last job was to get some servisol and go through all the pots and switches, as there were dropouts every now and then from the monitor switches (it was still recording but the sound through the speakers dropped out until the monitor switches were...

Re: Nothing In Particular
Decided to make a new input switching box today as I needed some more inputs and another output for tape deck. I was using a pair of plug in splitters to get it working with the old one, and the rats nest behind it was getting on my nerves. I also integrated a separate switch section to connect 2 tt...
