I bet they did! :D Monks running amok with sledgehammers all over the place. http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/kbf/th_angrymob.gif I think iTunes puts a limit on the number of audio CD's you can burn from a playlist of tracks you've bought. Might be 7 IIRC. 'Course the way around that is you co...

Chris, it sounds like you have a lot of interesting knowledge about using the 126. You should share it with us rather than tantalise! :) OTOH, the notion of adding a sub bass thing with Subaros! Nah, that's silly! You really would not want any more bass with these speakers. I think Dave is referrin...

Big thumbs up from me :thumbleft: Chris :D with all the talk of Zoe Tapper, Maldives, etc, the question is 2 or 3? BTW, the imaginary is likely more enjoyable than the real, and for married men, certainly safer they know that we know that they know it's always on our minds, and most of them simply ...

Here is the Fostex designed cabs for this driver. No doubt Scott will be able to comment on the merits, or not, of any the designs suggested. We built those. They burn nicely. dave A very disjointed and distractingly coloured speaker box indeed - certainly for my sensibilities did not bring out the...

The 206E kinda wants either a large enclosure when run by itself (most generally used in some type of BLH), or with powered assistance in the lower octaves. In addition, for many folks the top end might need some help above say 10-12kHz. These requirements might well conflict with your domestic cons...

Like any other component of a speaker building project, I think it's fair to say that thickness of appropriate construction materials is application dependent. Probably a more important factor would be the type of plywood (i.e. number of plys and species ). I'm a big advocate of a product that's gen...
Thanks Martin. I did notice though that the FF85K is only 88dB/W so the FF125K @ 92dB might be worth a closer look. Thanks, Mike. Mike, try to work your head around the sensitivity issue on the FF85K - I've heard all three of the FF series drivers in several box designs, and when Martin says the 85...

Interesting new driver
For those familiar with the MA CHR70, Mark's first (let's hope of many) paper cone driver: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=148401 The specs just don't tell the whole story - these sound quite nice indeed. Bob has been working on this one for quite a while, will soon be ...

Martin raises a valid point about the possible issue with the amp/ damping factor - the two amps that we used in our 2 hr listening session were a EL84 SE (Parafeed) and EL34 PPT. The latter had some feedback and certainly a higher DF that the SE - but the point is well made, and further listening w...

Colin - clearly there will be a few folks ( Martin included) interested in the impressions of your listening group. For now, let's just say that for me jury is out on this particular system, and that FWIW, this is the second time I've personally found the A10 underwhelming as compared to other Mark ...

The picture may give the design away to some extent, but there is nothing to relate the dimensions of the ports or the actual size of the coupling chamber etc. without guessing. These are all critical to a succesful design. Doesn't worry me either way, but you gave the key away earlier in the pictu...

so, looking at your woodcuts there is one small rectangular hole in the sound chamber - this gives pressure to the 'transmission line'? It gets more interesting! Andrew, Colin and I have both read Martin's design papers (although perhaps different versions) and built these - although I'm still at l...
