Matched pair Monacor RBT-20 Ribbon Tweeters

Having a bit of a clear-out in my retirement and so have a matched pair of Monacor RBT-20 ribbon tweeters for sale. These are true ribbon tweeters and probably are made by Fountek under licence for Monacor. The aluminium face plates are 127mm dia. The cheapest online current price for these I can fi...

Re: What Are You Listening To Right This Minute?

Tina Turner 'Simply the Best' on vinyl.
Saddened by the loss of such a great singer.
This album sounds really good on my new speakers

Re: Passive radiators

There seems to be loads of cheap small passive bass radiators on ebay. So if this is for a experimental project, what about a line array (or two) of something like these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/374119125104?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=7101533165274578&mkcid=2&itemid=374119...

Re: My Swansong speaker build

Interesting combo - sounding like it could be a killer system.
I do so hope that no one dies or is killed from listening to the set up

Re: My Swansong speaker build

Last Nick and Andrew were over my place for a mini meet gathering Nick asked me about the possibility of getting a pair these speakers to the forthcoming North West Audio Show, taking place on the 17th and 18th June 2023 at the fabulous De Vere Estate, Cranage in Cheshire. With the show in mind and ...

Re: My Swansong speaker build

Sounds like congratulations are in order Colin in relation to your new speakers, I’d love to hear them sometime. Hi Ian, You have PM. Of course you are most welcome to pop over for an extended listen. Many thanks for the congrats. The whole reason for designing and building these beasts was to go o...

Re: My Swansong speaker build

Had another day at Colin's last weekend, and we set about tweaking these speakers further, to see what could be done about the notch in the response at 100Hz. High Chris, I was hoping either you or Scott would post up a précis of the modifications that were carried out last Saturday. Saves the emba...

Re: SLOB project

Although the project is going well, the small hollow at the top right of the baffle is really bugging me - it's the result of a momentary lapse when I tilted the router over a fraction. I think I'll put a slightly larger radius on the top corners of the baffles to remove the problem. Yep, that mome...

Re: Interesting (non musical) YouTube videos.

Well Ray, the video clip is certainly inspirational and I have on my bucket list to perhaps build a 1:4 scale S.E.5A as a swansong RC model build. At 73 inch (1.85m) wing span is just about manageable to transport in my car. https://www.sarikhobbies.com/wp-content/uploads/images/products/p-4695-0013...

Re: Interesting (non musical) YouTube videos.

The first of a nice model aircraft construction series, maybe an idea for Colin (Toppsy) to follow up on his swansong speaker project, or perhaps Ed if he needs some more kindling fire wood... 😉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5D9bBZePhg Ray, I don't have such BIG ambitions regards a RC model airp...

Re: My Swansong speaker build

Out of interest, I totted up the cost of the drivers + plate amp. Didn't include the xover parts as I don't know what they were. Got to almost exactly £3k. Not cheap by any measure but about the same price as a single AER BD2 for comparison. Just gone through my invoices for all the drivers, the fi...

Re: My Swansong speaker build

Thank you Colin for a great day of idle banter, great tunes and a lovely lunch plus many cups of tea - would love to have another session once you have dialled in the frequency response for the final 5% that appears to be astray though I know I wouldn't be able to notice it. Cheers T'was great to m...

Re: My Swansong speaker build

Bit of fun. ;) ... We'll see in the new year; either Chris or I will get over there & measure the in-room again and probably womble about with ridiculous quantities of temporary damping materials. That would be great Scott. It would also be great if Chris could join us (likely, Andrew, me and N...
