Re: Nothing In Particular

Talking of claims that turned into millions this story is extraordinary really. Amey failed to replace two bollards for over a year and Birmingham City Council fined them under the terms of their contract over £50m. There's a lot more about Amey if you can be bothered to look but their owners, Ferro...

Yes, they've doubled almost overnight it seems. I emailed Yuriy last night but no reply yet.

Blimey. I've just looked on ebay - seems I've missed the boat on coppers...

Re: The Nemesis 813 PP Amplifier

Supposedly the real goodness of GM70 starts at 1000V. That's too much for me - the amp you heard at Owston has around 550V HT. I've read that some poeple prefer the graphite to the coppers, and they do sound different - the graphite's bass is bangin' man, but once I'd heard copper GM70s I lost inter...

And at home it's lost the ability for me to just sit down and enjoy the music following up on what Ed and Steve said.
And there's the rub of comparing kit. :-(

Re: Owston 2019 - Listening Impressions

Thanks Ant, I appreciate (constructive) feedback. Not least because it's probably about things that aren't immediately obvious to me but might be after long term listening. You know, the sort of stuff that eventually really gets on your wick. The 208s are an interesting case in point. I suspect I've...

Re: Owston 2019 - Listening Impressions

Thanks for the feedback Mark, it's useful. I have considered whether, especially in my listening room which isn't huge, different drivers in a sealed cab might be better as they have to go quite close to the wall. And the right driver would go lower too. But I'm not sure I'd find another driver with...

Re: Owston 2019 - Listening Impressions

Brave man Chris, and well done for starting this. I've added some comment on the page with the photos. - The 3-way OBs in the corner (sorry, I missed the intro so didn't catch who the owner was!) showed potential, and I like the concept of a dipole system over a wide frequency range. I just think th...
