Re: Sonido SWR-145/a Satellite speakers

A pair of SB34s would be absolutely awesome  and I'm very mindful of the size of the cabinet at Q=0.7 as thats a very practical size compared to the 260l monsters I'm thinking about... but still smaller than the Quasars. and they could be made from Perspex... I'd be using them instead of t...

Re: Sonido SWR-145/a Satellite speakers

Those Sonido drivers look interesting, I hadn't seen them before. Be very interesting to see what you think of them James.

Re: Sonido SWR-145/a Satellite speakers

IIRC my SB34 is in a 126L box q=0.7 f3=34Hz and it thunders. I've wondered a few times about trying a pair :-D.

Re: Corona Virus Lock Down 'Rant' Thread.

As far as I can see Stephen a lot of building trades round here have continued as if nothing has happened. Of course, that might be part of why infections are on the increase here...

Re: what are you doing ?

Is that the new rail college Ant? I really enjoyed woodwork at school, less so metalwork. Projects were "modest" I seem to recall, and strictly hand tools only. That was nearly 40 years ago. It's the new one they are building where they flattened the old court buildings, next to the police station ...

Re: what are you doing ?

That was nearly 40 years ago So they'd gone soft back then .... It was bandsaws and pillar drills a gogo in my first year of secondary school  To be fair they were probably taking reasonable precautions. One kid had his head squashed in a woodwork vice by the "cock of the year" so anything m...

So what excitement do you have planned for tonight? Nice meal out? Pub crawl round Fax followed by a curry? Or perhaps just a quiet night in?

I've never felt the urge to get a CNC machine, but wow, I do now. That horn's a thing of beauty. Just loved it when he started to rub the finish on at the end and the wood changes colour and lustre.

One day, you can look forward to money coming in without working. It's brilliant. :D
Mmmmm, I can't help but wonder just how poor pensions may be in the future. And when (and if) the state pension can be drawn. Current events won't have helped any. But this isn't very jolly for Nick's birthday.

Re: Happy Birthday Nick!

Happy birthday Nick! It was mine 6 days ago, I was really touched the whole country helped me celebrate. :-) If it's any consolation I don't know where the last 20 years have gone. The scary thing is winding forward 10/20 years... Makes me wonder why I'm wasting my life at work when there's so many ...
