Re: SLOB project

Yes I found the side wings added to the zing of the 208EZ wide band drivers around 2kHz which is why I moved to the simple flat baffle for the 208s and the H frames for the 285GMFs. Definite improvement.

Re: Streaming advice please

Okay thanks Max, I thought it might.

For those that have tried, how does Spotify compare to others like Tidal for sound quality?

Re: Hypex NCore NC400 Monoblocks

Probably a stupid question but here goes ... Why don't you run the GM70s you have down lower for the woofs as well? Not at all stupid Stephen, it's an eminently sensible thing to do. And I used to do this with a series crossover with honking great air cored chokes and large caps. Until I tried runn...

Re: Streaming advice please

I've never tried Spotify on LMS - would my missus' free account work or does it need to be a paid version?

Bit of a waste though given the 285's sensitivity.
I know, even the cheap ebay 3116 boards I use are way too much. The demon inside me keeps telling to build graphite GM70 amps for the 285s but the iron alone would probably cost £700.

Re: Hypex NCore NC400 Monoblocks

Phew, that's a relief, someone's bought them :-)

Would be ideal driving the Supravox 285GMF bass helpers.

Yes, that's the chap ed, I remember now. Just need to stick anything in the credentials box. Essentially mine's the same as Chris' except I'm less imaginative and used 1 for both Username and Password.

Re: Streaming advice please

There was a trick when I was getting LMS on the pi to see my NAS. I don't recall exactly but the path wasn't what the instructions said and I had to try two or three different things.

Re: Nothing In Particular

I will let you into a secret, I too, have obtained a pair of those Lii 10's with a view to making an OB out of them combined with the Supravox 285 I got secondhand via AOS. All that is something I don't have time to do, and I don't need another set of speakers at all. But it seemed like a good idea...

Re: homeplugs

Our little laptop, which is 10 years old, lost the wi fi adapter a while back. I couldn't get it going again and intended to get a wi fi dongle, but I prevarocated and one day it worked again. No idea why, but you might get lucky ed!
