I think it was negative, what bias are you running at the moment?
None.

I was using my KT66 (as a triode) single ended monoblocks and instead of the usual output transformer through a step down transformer (1-6 ?) to the 833a grid.

Re: 833A (GU-48) Amp

Can you (Nick) remember what bias voltage range you used on your version ? If not would 40v - 90v be a good place to start ? I assume it would be a positive voltage ?

The RCA data sheet has no mention of class A, or A2 operation.

Re: 833A (GU-48) Amp

Thanks Nick.

On that ACF2 circuit is

A) The input direct from preamp ?

B) The output to 833a grid ?

And, what would be a good way to configure a +450v / -400v power supply ?

He already uses separate output transformers...it'll be just like giant Lego.
Modules, that sounds good. :D

Are you still travelling round the world Andrew ?

Been in the "shed" lately ? :?:

Re: 833A (GU-48) Amp

The filament chokes were delivered this morning, not a bad service from Latvia.

I'm going to rethink the way this amp is constructed as the total weight is likely to be backbreaking. :(

Steve, does Ants 15" version of the driver "suffer" the same issues that you had with the 12" verson ?

Re: Nothing In Particular

How long has the NEC been charging for parking ?

Last time I went parking was free (2-3 years ago) but tomorrow, for the Classic car show, it's £16 (£12 in advance) .

Re: Tablet help.

I've been given a Samsung Galaxy tab-E. It was supposed to be non functional. With the help of Google I've done a factory reset (as the password was unknown) and it seems to be working. :D The Android system is 4.4.4 and seems to be up to date software update wise. Is there a way to install a later ...
