Re: Wanted. 2m of decent hook-up wire

Sorry for being rude and not checking this site for replies. I took my eye off the ball after I received some hook-up wire from TimN on the WA forum. I have just logged on to the site for the 1st time since November. Not that I have used it - I have quite severe long-Covid that's lasted c.21 months ...

Wanted. 2m of decent hook-up wire

Hi all
wonder if anyone can sell me 2m of hook-up wire for the innards of a valve amp. Stranded OFC copper, ie not tinned, is my preference. It's proving hard to find on the high st or without paying £9.99 (!) postage. Will pay for the wire and p&P.

Thanks

Re: 401

A quick post for anyoneneeding work done on a Garrard. I found an old letter from Martin Bastin, called him, and discovered that he is still doing a limited range of work on Garrards. He has sorted my problem. He is happy for people to contact him, on 01584 823446

401

ear all
I would be grateful for help with a 401 problem. The brake disc is scraping, not against the brake magnet I think, but against the motor housing. Is there a way to adddress this without removing the motor?
Thanks

Re: 401 bearing issues

Hi Island Pink thanks very much for that. In fact, further digging found some old threads on the oil to use, so I will re-read those. In the meantime it seems pretty well lubricated for now. On the other issues I re-installed the bearing housing nice and tight, by going at it from above and below, a...

401 bearing issues

Hello all I have been servicing my 401 and have a few queries: 1. what oil to use for the spindle lubricant. I have a Martin Bastin thrust pad at the base of the spindle 2, when I replace the heavy platter the spindle does not initially go down to the bottom of the housing. I searched for answers on...

HDMI to RCA audio cable or adapter? Query

Hello all long time no hear (mea culpa - been suffering without music with builders in the house for many months). I have a query as I try to use a Blu-ray player as digital source. It only has HDMI out and my IncaTech Claymore amp (new version) only has phono in. Is there a recommended cable or ada...

Dear all recently moved and now wondering about fiddling with a new amp. Wondered if anyone has an opinion on this, particularly the valve line-up: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HiFi-Valve-Tube-Amplifier-MM-Phono-Turntable-Power-Amp-Class-A-Stereo-Audio-Amp/274385197960?hash=item3fe2a1db88:g:FJkAAOSww8...

Interim replacement for Denon 103R - suggestions?

Dear all I am fortunate to have completed a house move on Fri 20 March, in London. I am less fortunate in having had the Expert Stylus Co (ESC) sapphire cantilever and fancy stylus snapped off in the move (a combination of not quite careful enough packing and very careless removal company). I am wei...

Hi Ray, no problem at all.

Easier all round if I butcher the player myself. Thus, it is no longer available
