What are you using for a crossover, and what frequency are you crossing over?

Re: Nothing In Particular
I always used 0xAA55 mainly because it’s a nice binary pattern, but I suppose anything recognisable would do. No idea if that is more or less likely to appear than any other pattern though - I guess it depends on context
Nice bit of code and bookmarked - thanks

Re: Nothing In Particular
Realised today that despite IP and MAC addresses both being octets, IPs are (nearly) always decimal and MACs are always hex. I have no idea why - probably to do with non-techies not being familiar with hex and they are more likely to be concerned with IPs than MACs

Re: Nothing In Particular
Car keys. Bit of a sore point for me today. I've spent the last 14 months or so living with my partner in Kirkcaldy, though I still have my place in Galashiels. Been gradually moving my stuff across, and was over in Gala today picking up some bits. On the way back had gotten a few miles on my way b...

Re: Nothing In Particular
The sound quality suffers a bit when compressing, but it’s not too noticeable, and we can get through a whole film without touching the volume Improved this quite a bit by putting more gain before it and reducing the gain after A bit limited as consumer stuff doesn't put out as much signal as pro g...

Re: Nothing In Particular
I have done some tests, and subjectively, adverts are improved, but it’s only slight. If you bought it for this I feel that you would be disappointed. Having said that, it was only £40 so might be worth a try, but it is balanced in and out, so you might need to do some converting. One handy feature ...

Re: Nothing In Particular
I’ll have to see if it makes any difference on adverts Mike. They are usually very heavily compressed, so same peak level as the programme, but much higher average. Definitely helps on modern films which seem to assume that you have speakers capable of over 100dB, and that is what you want to hear. ...

Re: Nothing In Particular
Bought a compressor limiter for the sound from the TV. Got fed up of turning the volume up to hear the dialogue, and turning it down when there’s some action so we don’t disturb the neighbours. It’s a Behringer MDX2600 and not bad for £40 off eBay, but will try to learn more and maybe get something ...

Much better thanks Phil
Took two days, but then I just got better and better
The hospital visits felt surreal in that it was like people had come from all over the world just to make me better

Re: General health matters.
Stents came out this morning, and it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience. Hopefully the stinging will stop in a couple of days

Thanks Dave
Had a kidney stone that was too big to break up, so they had to cut me open to get it out. X-ray beforehand showed another stone blocking my other kidney, so they had to get that out first. Must have been under for about 6 hours, but everyone was brilliant
