Re: Impulse H6 Horns

I could be interested; where are you? Ray, Not wishing to poo-poo a sale but since the seller has not provided any manufacturers spec's for the speakers and being 'Horns' you may be thinking they are quite efficient? On the contrary. These are quite insensitive speakers, despite being Horns. They a...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Just got one of these for £110 off in a sale... Nolan N104... - Nolan-N104-1c.jpg - Never had a flip-front before so should be interesting. Especially like the internal sun visor, as I frequently have had difficulty with low sun using my current/old helmet, especially in spring / autumn / winter ti...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Simon,

You have PM.
My email service has been down all morning and they say they are working on it to restore the service but when is anyone's guess.
So postage quotes attached to PM. Let me know which you want to go with and I'll arrange for Monday pick up.

Regards
Colin

Re: Nothing In Particular

Subwoofer plate amps. Anyone got any experience or recommendations? Perhaps even one to sell? Simon, I have two sub-woofer plate amps that are for sale if you are interested. Used very little. They are Monacor SAM-1 units. PM or email me if you are interested. I'd be looking for around £50 each. Ch...

Thanks Colin. Let's see how things shape up after Christmas with the project and find a mutually convenient time when you're comfortable with progress and your bill-paying workload. Cheers Ray That's fine Ray, just get in touch after Christmas holiday period and we'll arrange a convenient time. Mad...

Re: MY own OB speaker project

Thanks for broadening the offer Colin, I would definitely take you up on it but from Somerset it's a long way so not something to be easily undertaken. I'm really interested in this project and very tempted but for one problem I perceive; I only have around 1.5watts per channel available from my Tr...

Re: MY own OB speaker project

You're most welcome to pop over and have a listen when you fell well enough from your stomach bug issue. I can easily separate the coax driver from the super tweeter and bass drivers so you here the coax on it own on the baffles. The invite to pop over to Topps Towers and have a good listen to thes...

Re: MY own OB speaker project

Nice work ! So is that the coax unit in the middle with the tweeter ? Does the HF bit fire through the big dustcap ? Yes Mark, and the horn does fire through the large centre dust cap. Monacor don't appear to publish a lot of data regards the design of the units but what they do publish can be foun...

Re: MY own OB speaker project

Some further minor upgrades with the 3-ways. Yesterday I drilled holes in the centre baffles and installed the T90A super tweeters. I machined the holes such the tweeters would be gripped in place with 3mm thick 'O' rings. For those that can remember the Sachiko speakers I built for Andrew, Phil mac...

Fair enough.
Have you ( Colin ) got a link to the horns ? - I've only seen a picture. Would be interested to know the expansion frequency.

Good effort !
So remind me, what's the bass unit for this ?
Mark,
they are the Monacor SP-382PA, probably one of Monacors cheapest 15" bass units. They are wired in parallel.

Re: MY own OB speaker project

OK I'll kick off of what I can remember of the weekend meet, hopefully Andrew, Nick and Chris will contribute with comments when they have the time. Andrew arrived the Friday evening and we fired up the 3-way OB's with my 300B SET's. His initial reaction was not as positive as I hoped. He thought th...
