Re: Monacor SP-310CX Coaxial Driver MLTL's

Hi everyone, I'm new in the forum and I came in attracted by this project I'm going to build too, I'm very interested in the chosen alignment and the crossover studied for this system, for now I have the klangton project scheme and I'd be curious what do you think and eventually compare it to yours...

Re: Wanted: large film foil caps

Not that large a value for film caps, however I have some spare in those values.

Re: Next Year's project

Good news, I got a full refund, no quibbling. Indeed Ray a good result but I'm sure you would rather have had the intact radio. The money can be replaced but finding another radio in as good a condition as the one you found will be hard to replace. Like you I'd be gutted if this had happened to me.

Re: Monacor SP-312CX MLTL's

Roughly what efficiency are they Colin? Excellent work BTW. Ray, manufacturers' published sensitivity ratings are: SP-312CX : 97dB (bass) / 106dB (tweeter). SP-310CX : 96dB (bass) / 105dB (tweeter). Based on the volume setting I use on these speakers in comparison to the normal level I use on my ot...

Re: Monacor SP-312CX MLTL Speakers

Looking good, Colin. If the 10's are anything to go by you should be in for a treat. Indeed they are a treat Andrew. Based on the sound of the 10" MLTL speakers, I think these are the first speakers I have built that have met my expectations. I love them and they are a perfect match to my 300B SET ...

Re: MY own OB speaker project

Must admit, I thought they sounded better with the Monacor 10” coax. Can't argue with you there Ali. However, the 3-way with the 10" coax are more expensive in drivers and OX components. The 2-ways were developed for those on a budget. Not having listened to the 2-ways for quite some time, and then...

Re: MY own OB speaker project

Ian, As Ali has said please do post up details and progress of your OB project when it gets started. Too few speaker projects of late and as winter is in full swing and generally the time folk think about a winter build project it will be good to read of your efforts. It's been a while since I last ...

Re: Monacor SP-310CX Coaxial Driver MLTL's

Hi Ali, Hope you are fully recovered from your tooth abscess? So how are you getting along with your Milburn MKII speakers? Do they perform well with your OTL amp? As you heard at my place they are a super match with my NickG designed 5W 300B SET amps. Coax drivers do have a certain something going ...

Re:Monacor SP-312CX MLTL speakers

Finished the second 12" coax driver speaker yesterday. Unfortunately still awaiting the XO inductors from HFC so don't know yet how they will compare to the 10" speakers. Just a couple photos of the speakers as completed - First two orientated for W10/Android users (hopefully): http://www.audio-talk...

Re: Monacor SP-310CX Coaxial Driver MLTL's

Lovely work as always, Colin. I've got a 10" coaxial project coming up - mine will be in stage monitors for PA use, but if the drivers (Faital Pro 10HX230) prove to be good, though, I'll see about doing a pair for home stereo use. An ML-TL is a nice way of getting a decent amount of LF extension fr...

Monacor SP-312CX Coaxial MLTL speakers

As the 10" coax speakers sound so incredibly good, trying out the 12" version in a similar MLTL cabinet simply had to be done. I know Ali has a hankering to know how these compare to the 10" speakers I recently built for him. So an email went out to Scott requesting he design a similar proportioned ...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Well turns out I was only on half the dose of antibiotic I should have been. No wonder it wasn’t helping. Had to have yet another dental visit yesterday and have my gum cut open to be drained as the infection had spread all the way along my upper left gum. Can barely open my mouth (some might think...

Re: OB Speaker Opportunity

Hi Colin Thank you for your offer to visit again. I was hoping to make the Yorkshire Hifi Club, my final jaunt out in 2018. It looks like I might have to squeeze one more in. I would also like to hear the latest design you have produced as well. How easy is it to get the 845's into your home. These...

Re: Something stirs in the Undergrowth

Scott - first things first, while you're here : do you know anyone in the UK who has built any of Ron Clarke's horns ? I really need to listen to one if at all possible. Mark, you may find a UK builder of the Dallas II in this old WD forum thread http://www.world-designs.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?...
