Re: Help interpreting 2nd/3rd Harmonic values on WE datasheet

My original solution can be done with a slide rule or set of log tables. bah humbug! I was all set to try it on my trusty castell 1/60 when I realised it doesn't have the LL scale, which is needed for the expo.... not all slide rules are created equal... I'm not even going to look for my 4 fig tabl...

Re: Help interpreting 2nd/3rd Harmonic values on WE datasheet

TBH, I just use a scientific calculator on my phone to do the conversion I posted. Yet another thing that phones have taken over. 's'funny...I don't have a phone and for some reason I keep thinking there are others like me, that don't have one..... I know I'm mistaken but I still keep thinking that...

Re: Fane 12-250TC Retro Speaker.

Indeed Steve. The Pachelbel I played at Owston was a bit disappointing, being quite 'edgy'. I was talking with someone aferwards who commented that it wasn't a very good recording but the reason I wanted to play it was because experience at home is that its an excellent 'prick up your ears' recordi...

But there is always a level of 'somethings missing' from the sound
after quite a few years of messing with dsp I've come to that conclusion as well.
but I don't suppose it stops it being a useful tool in some areas.

from a different angle, and knowing precious little about car batteries... I've got a fair bit of experience with lithium in regard to model aircraft and I do know there are risks, the realisation of which I've witnessed a few times. Does anybody know how the manufacturers have addressed these risks...

Re: Guitar Amp for Granddaughter

this thread ticks all the boxes for me, thanks Steve.... Imo the Blackstar vid says it all. I have experience of both(well mainly the Fender twin but it's not too different from the 5 series) and I would go for the Blackstar every time. If you chose the Fender you would be limiting her progress and ...

Re: Guitar Amp for Granddaughter

Steve....it might pay dividends to ask yourself why you are embarking on this path.... two ideas immediately come to mind: are you doing this to satisfy your 'I must build anonther amp' itch, justified by the fact that you're helping your granddaughter out with an amplifier.. or altrusistically tryi...

I've had a couple this week from BT support to the effect that my security has been compromised...

It crossed my mind that they could do a bit more background before trying it on....there ar no BT lines, connections, or presence in Hull.

Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

some more porn for Mike.. Whilst at Eden Camp in the week I stumbled on a chap re-assembling a bike. It transpires that the museum was sold a 1940s BMW combo with war use provenance. It came to pass, after some detailed research, that said bike was 1957/58 painted german army and having transfers app...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Just ruined another TV. Last time it was Trump. This time some f*ckwit young work-experience woman on the BBC who kept referring to 'House of Frazier" "House of Frazier" instead of 'Frazer' . Threw the TV remote at the screen. Another £400 down the drain. None of this would happen if I could only g...

Re: Small Push-Pull Amp.

You guys have much better memories than me, but.....

didn't our man in Bedford make a little push pull el34 years ago? I seem to vaguely remember it being red and everybody liked it at the time...it may have been the time he played Stravinsky's 'firebird'....but then again it might not have...
