Re: Small Push-Pull Amp.

I think the red one that people remember was that el84 with an enormous power supply wot MI dad built. Had a massive transformer and a 22000uf cap in it iirc
Was nice that one

Re: Nothing In Particular

Moved the dynavector dv20a2 off the jvc and onto the lenco. Interestingly, when it came it was attached to a fingerlift, and when I had a closer look at it, that fingerlift turned out to be the original one for the audio technica AT1100. I didn't have an original for mine, I was using a generic one....

Re: Nothing In Particular

I have 4 different ones at the moment. the first is a 1/2 inch heavy duty hitachi m12. It's beastly, really good for big areas and deep holes. I use it basically for material removal, roughing stuff out, squaring laminate plinths up. It has no finesse whatsoever, it's not much use for anything requi...

Re: Nothing In Particular

My trend t5 router finally expired. Bought it new back in 2004 and it has been very well used, so I guess I got my monies worth. There was a bang when I switched it off, wasn't electronic. So I took it to bits to see if it could be mended, and found that the moulded plastic rebate in the top cover t...

Caught the end of Michael kiwanuka's set at glasto last night, went back and watched it through today and have bought both his albums off the back of it.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Finally got myself another dynavector cart. I got a nos dv20a2. I had an a2 years ago, then a 10x3 and a 10x5, and a karat 23r when I was using moving coils. They all did something I like, and when Nigel got me to build the g99 with the karmadon arm he supplied a dv20x2 which rekindled the dynavecto...

Anyone want to try the arm I built?

Yes it looks somewhat rough, it is a prototype in its defence And there is no cuing lever so it's manual only And it does seem abit susceptible to picking up static with the wiring being on the outside Which it wouldn't be if I'd remembered to drill the front section of the arm tube out before assem...

Re: Latest DSD Decoder Project

The tracking data shows that the replacement Cronus reclocker arrived at Heathrow on Monday - it's still there! That's longer than it took to get from the US to the UK. Grrr... That's because a multi national task force (US + UK + Parcelthief) are trying to work out how much to charge you for impor...

Milling machine advice

I'm looking seriously at getting a milling machine. having bodged a rudimentary capability onto the drill press using an old lathe cross slide in order to mill a small section out of the arm wand on the unipivot, I've been musing getting something proper for a while. The bodge was fine if cumbersome...
