I was seduced by the spec sheeted claims of 1083s. Putting 9 volts through the input to get, if I remember, 7.25volts at an amp for VT62s, the supplied heat sink, pcb and components were severely damaged into useless 'walking wounded'. I didn't even trust things with replacement 1083s (or 1084???- )...

Very interesting... I know someone who has re-ripped all his music into WAV now storage is so cheap and plentiful. He doesn't use Flax at all. So be it. OTOH he did sperryment with ripping with a much higher frequency though, I think 16 bit, so his WAV files are enormous. Try as I did with as close ...
