He probably needs the money to pay for all those Indian call centres that keep ringing me up about the problems I’m not having with the internet.
I kept one of these callers on the line for a good 15 minutes the other day before revealing my game along with some choice Anglo-Saxon.

Re: Zappa !

Interesting ! will play in the Symphony Hall rated 7th in the world. ...For orchestral or rock music ? They are not the same thing - as I found out watching Jeff Beck & band in the Bridgwater Hall. Good question. The only band I've seen there was when KD Lang performed. https://www.businessinsider....

Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

I had a beautiful Kawasaki Z1B in the late 70s. It was quite a jump from my Yamaha RD200. It felt very powerful and I loved to wind the throttle open on motorway slip roads in 3rd gear. Sadly it was let down by it's handling and brakes but was otherwise a very nice machine.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Anyone else got/had neighbour trouble? Unfortunately, yes. We live in a conventional 4 up, 2 down family home cul-de-sac. We have two neighbours who drive us mad with their own and their tenants anti-social behaviour. Both of them have turned their family homes into multi occupancy premises, rentin...

Re: Nothing In Particular

After a day listening to the neighbour's home alone dog in melt down from 9am in the adjoining semi I am entertaining said neighbours with some rather loud Frank Zappa - Zappa in New York. I wonder if anyone could recommend particularly interesting tracks. I've tried the nice approach so Zappa it is...

Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

I have to make a confession. Mrs L and I watch the ITV show 'Heartbeat'. The plots are silly as they come but in every episode there are delightful bikes, cars and vans from the sixties and before. I love to hear the copper's BSA A10. There's a nice Velocette in the storyline at the mo too. It's wo...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Dweezle Zappa is on tour this December ... Whahey, excited trousers set to 'maximum', I'm going. When we went to see them at the Warwick Arts Centre some 5 years back it was one of the best gigs my son and I had been to. Even my Wife, who never listens to FZ at home enjoyed the stunning musicianshi...

Re: Nothing In Particular

One of my favourite artists - Dweezle Zappa is on tour this December but the nearest he is playing to me is at the Town Hall in Birmingham. Once bitten twice shy - saw him there a few years back and the sound was a congested muddle thanks to the poor acoustics of the venue. I was wondering if anyone...

From Moto Guzzi forums - gob smacking IoM TT ride, as one YT commenter says is like a perfect winning score on a computer game, except it's not a computer game, it's real  Speedo is in mph, not kph and it throws in the towel and refuses to display the numbers when it goes over 185 ..... Re: Edingdale GT, the ultimate Edingdale? Probably

I used to feel a sort of greyness of mood insidiously enveloping me as winter progressed. I discovered it was Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). It hit me me when I moved to a job where I worked in a telecoms repeater station lacking any natural light. Previously I had worked out and about in my BT ...

Re: Amazon basics....

I can see why they might be good at RF but thought their lower conductivity might make them less good for power transmission. I've been reading a thread from way back on speaker cables. I use 1.5mm T&E and one contributor found this to be poor. It's left me wondering. Now how expensive is that Tellu...
