Re: Nothing In Particular

Mine: Keep forgetting the likelihood of import duty when buying from the US, had to pay £13.15 before can get the actual box delivered. Ordered two NOS 12SN7 from US, 22 quid, yeah very reasonable, but add "shipping" and the above, £48.--. Better be worth it! What I like so much about order...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Looking for help with identifying the fusing temperature of a thermal fuse in a bathroom fan motor. Not had any joy Googling. It has a letter M which I think is manufacturer and then N127 084 Failing identification, does anyone know what temperature fuse is generally used. Looks like 084 is Tf = Fu...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Very nice image. One of my colleagues here swam from there to North Africa. Twice. The first time he got to a mile offshore and the tide changed so he had to go back. Tried again a week later and landed ok. Madness. He was also one of the Bosphorus swim group. Never landed there - sailed past it th...

Just as well. It would be a bugger taking mugs of coffee upstairs with the trampoline.

Re: First Watt F4 reduce VDC?

I believe it's the input stage https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pass-labs/234355-guide-building-pass-f4-amplifier.html Edit - I have found the info I read previously in the F4 build thread: Quote - you can scale the F4 up to about 30-32V. Much past that and the Jfet J74 start to let the smoke out. N...

Well, you could take the cellophane off the mains transformer and unwind a few turns to drop the voltage then tape it up again. Won't look so neat, but would save you buying a different Tx.
Unfortunately it's got an expoxy filled centre.

First Watt F4 reduce VDC?

No time to build much so I am soon to take delivery of a used Pass F4 from an enthusiast in Portugal. He has used a 5U case 450x400x210 mm and tx with 24-0-24 secondaries which gives Vdc +/-30v. This allows some 40W in class A. My concern is that with continental mains voltage, Vdc is already close ...

These guilty pleas and convictions should weaken Trump's support in Congress in the mid-terms providing a better chance of impeachment. On the other hand who knows what might happen. The old rules appear to very elastic these days much like Brexit's referendum cheating and the government's response ...
