Re: SIT

I'm building one of these amps into a case currently used for an F4 or at least will be when the parts finally arrive. The F4 sounds very good driven by my Aikido pre using four 12sn7. I wonder how the Sissy Sit will compare.
It would be interesting to hear any accounts of SIT sand builds on here.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Had a bit of job with the psu boards I bought recently. Solder didn't want to flow very willingly. I wondered if there was some sort of residue on the pads. Scrubbing with the toothbrush using IPA didn't improve things. I've emailed the seller over on DIY Audio. Maybe I should have used an abrasive...

Cleaning PCBs - As far as I recall I've never done it before or after soldering. I assume modern fluxes deal with any grease on the board. Is there a need to clean a board that doesn't have bare copper tracks before or after populating assuming no obvious grime? All the pcbs I have used have been q...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Aaaarrrgh, it’s that time of year when motorists reach for the long forgotten rear fog light switch at the mere hint of mist let alone fog! In a stream of traffic, following each other and yet you can see the car in front not using fog lights what makes you think I won’t be able to see you! Then wh...

I hope you can find another nice example. That's very sad and all so unnecessary. Why don't people think?

Re: Nothing In Particular

Mine: Keep forgetting the likelihood of import duty when buying from the US, had to pay £13.15 before can get the actual box delivered. Ordered two NOS 12SN7 from US, 22 quid, yeah very reasonable, but add "shipping" and the above, £48.--. Better be worth it! What I like so much about order...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Looking for help with identifying the fusing temperature of a thermal fuse in a bathroom fan motor. Not had any joy Googling. It has a letter M which I think is manufacturer and then N127 084 Failing identification, does anyone know what temperature fuse is generally used. Looks like 084 is Tf = Fu...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Very nice image. One of my colleagues here swam from there to North Africa. Twice. The first time he got to a mile offshore and the tide changed so he had to go back. Tried again a week later and landed ok. Madness. He was also one of the Bosphorus swim group. Never landed there - sailed past it th...
