Re: Nothing In Particular

Last minute decision - booked the afternoon off tomorrow and thought I would tootle along to the Bristol HiFi show for a few hours. I don't have great expectations but it's been years since I attended a commercial show and it beats checking spreadsheets. Will anyone else be there? I will be there o...

Re: Nothing In Particular

If you're visiting Bovington, or the general area, have time and the range isn't in use consider a visit to Tyneham; https://www.visit-dorset.com/things-to-do/tyneham-village-p136333 Why, there are no tanks there... :bounce: Aren't there? Its part of an active range, which is why access is restrict...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

The route will be a hilly challenge for the first half with a pretty flat second - the idea is to provide some shorter routes for less able cyclists to ride in the afternoon. Obviously the more riders I can get participating the more money we can raise, whic is the primary motivation. Anyway, the pr...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

I've committed to two charity rides this year. In May I'm riding the Air Ambulance Coast to Coast again, 55 miles from Watchet to West Bay. I really enjoyed it when I took part in 2017. On July 8th I'm organising a charity ride under the auspices of my workplace's adopted charity for 2019, Mind. It'...

Oh so true. :)
Yes, I seem to remember you posting about your bike a while ago Phil. I think you might have even been up the road on it?

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Good stuff Nick.

You've got enough riders for a SE Audio-Talk club run - maybe I'll get the train over and join you.

Re: The Other 13E1 SE-OTL

Today I;
  • started making up the umbilical cable to connect the tranformer chassis to the amp chassis; stopped when I realised I had bought heatshrink thats too small!
  • started wiring up the septal sockets
  • sorted out a switch arrangement for the selection of feedback (for 8 or 15 ohm speakers)

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Apart from the daily commute ride (about 7miles) my cycling has been gym based so far this week as I've not been finishing work early enough to do any miles in the daylight. I've done three 10mile spin bike rides averaging around 240Watts/23.1mph. It's a grey and breezy morning down here but I'll he...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

What apps are you guys using for tracking? I use my smartphone running either RidewithGPS or Strava for recording my rides. If I want navigation its RidewithGPS as I use that website for route planning. I've been drifting towards using Strave simply because there's a bunch of cyclists at work that ...

Re: Remember These?

Or you could look at the LM338 if you wanted something more robust, though it doesn't seem to be available in a HV version; https://www.digikey.co.uk/product-detail/en/texas-instruments/LM338T-NOPB/LM338T-NOPB-ND/212669 Also, at least in the short term, you might want to consider protecting the LM31...
