Good point about the drunken gits..jack wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 11:47 am Small point! Small speakers get lost in that room, what with a) the room size, and b) all the noisy drunken gits talking all the time...
.
Basically, It's small enough to carry on the train, but SWMBO would be without her Arabic radio for the weekend... so I'll have to ask permission...
Sunday morning is usually a quite time..
Let's hope those mini speakers get a pass out, they where good

They were Tannoy Devon speakers. I connected my 13E1 SE Alexandra Palace amp to them and the sound was fab.chris661 wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 8:33 amThought it was the 10" Tannoy Golds in ported boxes..?Dave the bass wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2019 6:23 pm AndrewI demo'd a system that incorporated small tannoy horns a good time ago IIRC.

I remember them too Dave. And I remember Andrew playing 1no. 17 mins long classical track of a challenging nature. I'm thinking it might have been an Eggy?Dave the bass wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 11:05 am Could be, the demo I'm remembering deffo had a pair of small PA/'tannoy' type horn on top of each cabinet too.

The Tannoy PA horn thing was at Eggborough. Andrew had got the loud hailers from a railway station that was upgrading its announcement system . Don’t know what the speakers were that were underneath them.
The Devon’s were definitely at Owston as I PM’d him a couple of weeks later wanting to buy them off him.

Think there were some at Owston too, twin identical drivers in a horn cabinet.
