Hi folks,
Been cutting wood over the last couple of days to try and bring a world first of Scott's new (unpublished as yet) Vampyr V design for FE103's along to Eggyfest. Touch and go whether they will be finished in time, but weather and family permitting they should be there.
As I'm arriving on 2 wheels to Eggy I will need to beg/borrow a small amount of car space to get them there...I feel Nick may be the pround owner of another bottle of red/white transport juice by the end of all this.
As bit of background on the Vampyr, Scott designed the original version as an answer to the Zigmahornets, but with better balance to the bass. This version is externally the same, but the internal arrangement is different, not really like anything I've seen from Scott's designs before so it should be a good learning experience. Don't expect window shaking bass, these are for small rooms and sensible volumes...
Will try and grab some pictures tonight if I can find the camera.

Driving too fast round corners might impress the young lads/ladettes in their Nova's but us old fogies prefer a gentle sedate driver thesedays
Newly designed cabs for FE103 Speakers will problee get us more impressed than driving on 2 wheels
Looking forward to these and many other bits at Eggy.

| Hm, he might be coming on his bicycle Mr B! Would these speakers not be more than adequate for an 'on-bike' stereo system? - strapped to the head or for rear wheel stabilisers! |

No problem (assuming they are not huge), I was not planning on bringing the OB's as you have all heard them more than once, so will either be in the 4*4 or a escort van (If I can get the dog cages out of the back) so there should be space. Depends on how big the 813 gets _________________ You try to create an idiot proof system, mother nature just creates a 'better' idiot. |

Wish I could hear them, but it's looking increasingly unlikely I'll be able to make it.
For 'better balance' read 'accept that the 103 does not do bass (short of full horn loading) so avoid pushing it too hard.' ~80Hz is about the limit, and they're intended for small spaces & acoustic material. |

I liked seeing the title Vampyr V. Scott has done a couple of these -- i sent him a QC doc on a new one last nite. The design in this class of speakers is a combination i've not seen anywhere. If that is true then Scott has come up with something usually unheard of in speakers -- something new. And as such coming up with and appropriate name is important... MBVmlV is just a bit of a mouthful.
I'll be very interested in people's take on these.

Now where are the marketing guys when you need them. So far the simple appellation on the end is best -- <name> V

The V stands for Voigt.
What we have is a Moose -- Big Vent mass loaded Voigt (pipe). People have been Big Venting bass reflex boxes for a long time... this is the 1st instance i've seen of BigVenting a Mileva.
