I got the drivers today .
They are HUGE ...aaarg ! ( about 10Kg each ? )
Got the horns slapped onto them and hooked up the the C3m/300B amps with just a 25uF cap currently ...sounds pretty thin obviously but some pretty nice tones especially on flutes and oboes .
Pics soon
Oh, and NO VAT and duty !!

Front Loaded Horn is definitely the way to go. Keep all the drivers in the same plane too.

Quite understandable. JJ on Wigwam has made some nice Petite Onken cabinets carrying 12" Altec drivers which he's using beneath Azuras loaded with Onken mid drivers. 2405's up top.
I'd post a link but can't.

I don't know. Not heard them yet. Again, its not about how low a speaker goes but how it actually does the low stuff it will play that actually matters. Many big ported speakers, transmission lines (especially) & sub-woofers will play very low but with woeful quality. They don't contribute anything useful to the music.

I think the Onkens JJ has built will be almost the same as 285GMF in Jensen 'Onken' I'm building myself, ie. flat to about 45 and maybe -3db at 40 Hz, I think that includes floor gain .
