This post has been changed/edited owing to my original post being no longer valid after a change to Philip's previous post as detailed above.
Thank you Philip. |

Maybe because they have had a falling out with their supplier/s? _________________ ©2010 Lee™ |

Are there any one else like me, paid the money but did not receive the plinth? Do anyone live near his place or visit his place regularly?

Hi,
My friend in UK reported the case to the local police for me. I got the email from the police today.
Hello,
An officer has called at the address yesturday and the company has ceased trading. The owner states he did send the items. Can you please confirm what you ordered and what address the items were meant to be delivered to. I will then revisit and ask for documentation regarding proof of postage.
Thanks, Lisa
I never receive anything from this guy since I paid him, I did not receive emails let along the plinth. So, it's a fraud.

Hi Liu,
It is good the police are taking an interest in your case and you are now fortunate to have a direct link to the officer who is dealing. Can I suggest that if you have any documents that prove you transferred the money, you attach copies in an email to the police officer as that will help their investigation.
Regards,
Greg |

It's a shame that Liu didn't disclose all the facts in this matter. So as he has left this post open ended with no conclusion I shall fill in the missing details.
Liu did transfer the funds as stated, however, after many pre order emails in which Liu badgered myself from every direction in an effort to reduce his costs I finally gave in and agreed to declare one tenth of the goods value on the export customs forms. I was lead to believe that had I not done so Liu would have faced a very high import tax due to his countries policies.
The short of it is that I made a very silly mistake and I very nearly faced some serious consequences with the authorities. You could say I was shaken by these events quite badly.
Liu did get his plinth eventually, I was almost forced by Liu and my local police force to send a second plinth at my own expense including the costly shipping of a twin plinth to the other side of the world.
The first one that caused all the fuss never materialised, but then I guess it wouldn't really under the circumstances.
A word of advice for anyone in business. If you sell expensive products don't do anyone a "favor" where customs declarations are concerned.
It will cost you one way or the other. _________________ www.slatedeck.com |

Just read the post by Darren. Yes, I did receive the very nice slatedeck eventually, thank you. I am very sorry if causing any trouble, and thank you for it. But declared low value were agreed before order, right? And it's half the good value, not one tenth. Also, I never heard such kind of problem. Believe me, I bought a lot of stuff on internet which were not cheaper than your slatedeck. I don't know why, maybe I live out side of EU, and it really make no difference to your Government because I don't have to pay your VAT. Beside, you could refuse it if it's a problem to you. I have sent numerous emails to you before I posted the story on internet, and one month later I reported the case to police because I still could not get your answer.
I was not upset about the delay. I am a reasonable man and quite tolerate such thing. You could tell me that you had health issue, you were ran out of slate, you were too busy to other orders, etc. But no, no any reply to my emails over six months. You never mentioned the problem. Just nothing. What's the so-called first plinth? Never heard it and never received it. You told the police officer that you DID send the plinth and had proof and receipt. Then, two days later, you told the police officer that you could not find the delivery documents and so has had sent me replacement items......<vbg> I still keep all emails between you, the police officer and me.
As you said, "The first one that caused all the fuss never materialised." then why you said "I was almost forced by Liu and my local police force to send a second plinth at my own expense including the costly shipping of a twin plinth to the other side of the world." I really don't understand, since the first one was never materiakised, then it's NOT the first one, it's not a finished plinth, and why you told the police officer that you DID send the plinth and had proof and receipt? And I paid you the total money, you should send the plinth to me, or you should refund the money, why you said that you sent the plinth to me at your own cost? I have paid you total money six months ago, not only deposit, don't you remember?
Regards,
Liu, |
