I found a piccie of him receiving a cup for cycling, I'm guessing it could be for either 'Bestest Caliper Postioning' or 'Shiniest QR lever' or even possibly 'Going really fast without any of them pesky gears thingyums'.

I cut some fresh bread today and made a Cheese and Marmite Sarnie. It told me it was a fan of Pink Floyds 'Animals' album and would I mind taking it out so it can see the power station on the cover. Seeing as how it asked so nicely and being an obliging sort of chap I did.
He got a good view. And I got a happy lunch.
57 miler today up to London again as the weather was nice and there was a brisk Westerly to help push me back home again. Besides showing a sandwich a landmark I set myself a 30 mile target before I 'allowed' myself to turn around head back home, it was Putney Bridge today.

Great rides Mr Bass, some might say 'awthum'! Love the old pictures too, though I have no idea why JTS's dad is getting a cup from my Auntie Joyce?
If you could find out which club he rode for you might be able to find out more about his riding as lots of clubs have archives. I saw a sign mentioning 'Reigate' in one of the pictures.

We're off down to South Hams for a few days, staying down near Burgh Island. Sans bike though I feel as though I'm letting Team Pentode down as I've done only around 100 miles so far this month.
That said, the terrain is a bit more challenging down here, the Flying Scotsman can't get up the hills I don't even notice!

I did a big loop yesterday with an ex-work chum, we did 69 miles across Lundun doing a Thames Hugger...
Hard but enjoyable work, my chum thrashed his distance PB by over 15 miles.
He's gone hi-tech, not only has he now got a Garmin but he's also got a camera to record his rides and points of interest on, must be a bit of a 'specialist' kind of film following my bum around for over 5 hours...

All you fit & keen people, be warned!
Due to a misplaced comment by me to the CEO of the business, they've bought in a team of stupidly super-fit trainers and nutritionists for the whole company to have a 10-week boot camp from 1st Oct until mid December. We're all being assessed this week, then given personal targets plus training & nutrition plans, plus free classes and PTs for the duration; every two weeks we have a full re-assessment.
The head honcho of the lot running this is an ultra-marathon guy. I hate him already.

My little Sis is a fitness instructor and as a 'project' she Trained our Mum to complete her 1st ever 5K Park Run.....at the age of 80!
Mum-the-Bass did good..." who turns 81 later this month, has been training for her first parkrun twice a week since March and run-walked the course in an impressive 48.36".
Being 'helpful'... Sis has just calculated my 'weighted' time and to equal what my Mum ran, target for a 5K Park Run equates to 27mins 02 seconds. Best I've ever done is 29:58.
I've got my work cut out, I can't have my nearly 81year old Mum thrashing me at Park Runs

I've been a bit lightweight with my riding this month and didn't even get on a bike (other than the short commute to work and back) for 8 or 9 days but we had a mostly very pleasant break down in South Devon week before last, though I put on a couple of pounds because of too many tea and cake stops. After the feast comes the reckoning the saying goes so I've been working hard this week. On Wednesday I squeezed in 20 miles during my lunch break;
