#1 Happy chappie! New soldering iron..

Post by jack »

Just received my new Metcal MX-5211 - 80W per output simultaneously with the standard and the ultra-fine handpieces.

Been a Metcal MX-500 user for many many years but time for an upgrade :)

It's a dream! Thought the old system would be difficult to improve on, but this is lovely...

I'm sure it's the bizz, looks a bit pricey in dollars.

Do you know what the government restrictions are that prevent Mouser from selling it in this country? seems a bit wierd, I've never seen that notice before.

Hard to say, Farnell have the 5210 which looks to be the same with just one "iron"

It's an MX-5210 with a second handpiece which is for ultra-fine work, an MX-H2-UF with stand MX-W1AV.

Not totally au fait with what I'm looking at, but looks impressive nonetheless. :)
