I have nothing to win, or lose.

This is a forum for DIY hi-fi enthusiasts, not an internet game.

From now on I will follow the route someone suggested earlier - ignore you.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Cool, sounds like a good place to get to.
Whenever an honest man discovers that he's mistaken, he will either cease to be mistaken or he will cease to be honest.

That is what I have been hoping for for at least 5 years - so here's hoping.

Just the act of starting the thread shows where the antipathy originates

I would have said that as far as this forum is concerned, the antipathy started with "Thought I would try again and see if the little irritating tit still wants to stalk and hound me."

Phil's been the most prolific poster on this forum for ten years, and no one except you has a problem with him. You come back after six years silence with that line above. What exactly did you expect to happen? Why post such a deliberately provocative statement, and then spend the next three weeks arguing with him and pissing of the whole forum, which seems to be the only thing you've achieved?

Uh, Shane, that was new member Guy's post, or am I misunderstanding you? Of course, Guy is a regular at HFS.

The thread was started to answer a question that Nick had asked me. :)

Not so, Greg. I don't know how to post a link to an individual post, but the quote was lifted directly from a post by Dr Bunsen Honeydew on Dec 29th, and it was his first post since 2010. Have a quick look through DBH's posting history to check.

As soon as it appeared you could pretty much predict what followed, side-kicks included!

The post was just about spot on then wasn't it?

Because that is what seems to have happened.

Sounds like a bit of chicken-and-eggery going on...
