oh my, just felt the guilt coming on(or maybe it's just a cold coming). My Holdsworth is out in the elements getting greener with moss with every passing day. I had a look the other day and the white saddle is now almost completely green. I ought to clean it and put a cover on it, but it's awfully cold out there....and I don't have a cover. Still, I'm warmed by the thought of my daily 7 a.m swim.

You know it makes sense! All you need is some spanners and a bin.

Shame, that. Could’ve been fun. I suspect that if you ever did get into boating, it would be something like that.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

The Napier "Deltic" engine was developed for use in MTBs.

Later to find fame as the engine in the (aptly named) Deltic locomotives on the East coast main line that supplanted Gresleys A4 pacifics.

As a teenager I had a holdsworth cyclone de lux. Beautifully built bike from the 50's... been on the lookout for one these over the last few years
Look after it...
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

You were lucky, I dreamed of having a Holdsworth...!

..and you had to get up at 2am and clean the lake !

I saved up and bought a Holdsworth frame with 531 main tubes in 1980 and had some decent kit on there including tubs. I crashed it into the back of an Austin Maxi in mid-1981 during a 10 mile time trail, just before my O-levels.

I thought I had rather cleverly got out of doing O levels by getting meningitis. The bastards made me sit the papers when I got out of hospital- no time to be normal nor revise nor care particularly except that I was alive.

I started racing on a £12 Bike from Halfords. Benelux gears came eventually - 4 gears! I finally got an old Peugeot racing frame that might not have been 531 but had very fancy lugs. That took me through time trails and road races. Tubs of course but most if the buts were hand me downs and cast offs.

I'm as confused as you Dave, but could this be the answer ?

Spot-on there young Philip. Part of the scene when I started, and of course 'fixed' in winter.

buts = bits...too, sorry.

'Parently tubs are making a come back with the pros and of course sime people never gave up. I got rid of my 'sprints' and tubs sometime late 1980s. Modern tyres are so much better and lighter than they ysed to be.
