Glad to hear that she's on the mend, Mark. Excellent. Hope that the trend continues. Onwards & upwards!

Thanks for the update Mark, no, I doubt they'd pay out for a stairlift, it'd be a bed downstairs if it came to that I expect, like my uncle's wife. Had a stroke a few years ago now, never got better (and not likely to) so can't do stairs. Her bed is now a "hospital bed" (supplied, like my dad had) downstairs in the lounge, which fortunately is big enough (two rooms knocked into one). Dining table and chairs had to go to make room. Also fortunately they have downstairs loo.

So much for the snow coming tonight !

It's snowing NOW.

Should make driving to Sudbury down narrow roads a bit interesting later on. Be a good test of the CRVs on demand rear wheel drive capability.(it's front wheel drive in normal circumstances)

Seemingly it kicks in if the front wheel speed exceeds the rear wheel speed by a predetermined value.

PS the snow has almost stopped now. :)

PPS It's started again. 13:49

Very Christmassy here this morning. About 2 or 3 inches, trees all covered.

Just a sprinkle here.

It was -5C at 06:15 when I cleaned Jeans car windows. Off for my Tuesday walk shortly, will wrap up well. :)

Absolutely Image chucking down with snow in Boston.

Sun came out about 11-ish, was able to go out brush melted snow off the Ural and put the cover on. Glad I did now!

Actually I can see blue sky again .. how long for...

We're supposed to be flying to Madeira from Manchester on Friday afternoon. We normally use the train to get to the airport. Fingers tightly crossed.

Just to add further spice to today's busy schedule, I was first on the scene of an accident on the way home. Young lady had spun & partially rolled car on the back-road to Denbigh in a dip where road had frozen. Luckily no serious harm. The water & partially frozen snow is all freezing into black ice everywhere round here, it was already -4 C at 5.30 when I set off.

Snow in the South Hams tonight. Now that’s a rare event.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Twas -4 at 06:15, and a reasonable depth of snow.

According to the forecast the snow will be heavy this afternoon. :(

Seems storm Emma will miss East Anglia, but the west/central will get it bad.

#2 son stupidly went out in his car yesterday.

Today, he no longer has a car, but at least no-one was hurt.

Oh! At least everyone is ok, just dented pride...

Went to my local electric wholesale outlet, Gil-lec looking for an MK safety plug with the captive nut style screws....”Don’t stock ‘em”. How about a toughplug.....”Don’t stock ‘em”

What MK plugs do you stock? “None!”

Chucking down with snow in Boston again AND gales, until Friday.

Running out of milk and bread, Asda scheduled to deliver tomorrow. Theoretically.

Today is refuse bin collection day (green bin), but not seen them yet.

I have to dress up like Scott of the Antarctic (including hiking boots) just to put it out and bring it back.
