So how does that work??? Up to 100 people can look at a screen at the same time but they'll only see their own personalised info? I must have misunderstood.

There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be

It does seem unlikely !

The only way I can think that it may work is a combination of face recognition and beam forming.

No more than my answer though there is more hand waving on the web site.

There is an implication that the 'screen' has some information to present to you, like your flight details, so maybe there is a 1:1 relationship between person and information and perhaps identifying the recipient may be as simple as triangulation on an RF tag embedded in a boarding pass?
Still leaves some clever stuff in the screen.

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

I just don't see, optically, how you can make a screen directional enough to give 50 or 100 people a different view.

The thought occured to me that if the screen could identify individuals then it might be possible to hack the refresh rate to apportion a part to individuals..but this would involve flicker and would limit the number of viewers.....
maybe one for the future when we have chips in our heads and the refresh rate has gone into the megahertz

At the mo it's a demo, and apparently you have to scan your boarding card, until then it doesn't work. So what happens then? But yes does seem like it has to get inside your brain.

Reading the article, the finished article will apparently be able to handle thousands of people.
