Downloaded it off iTunes in all its 256K AAC data reduced hideousness ( yeah, whatever )

You people are in for such a treat, I'm telling you :D

Love the picture of Kabooby (the magical flying camel) on the sleeve.

This thread has woken me up and I've been again listening to 'Utopies' with the additional live CD which has reminded me how good their recordings sound. I've not explored any of their other albums but I'm inclined to do so. Those of you who have, what do you recommend or should I simply buy everything?

Ah yeah, the drummers a big fella, I didn't factor in the extra 8.3%!

Greg, you're safe with all of the their albums, they've never done a stinker. If you like Utopies I reckon the album 'Now' would be a good follow-up purchase for you -> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HADOUK-TRIO-N ... 5402895161

Didn't know the camel was a cartoon character Steve, good detective work there.

Oooo, its landed. Corrr, it's a lush album. Nice sounds, and they care about it too... quote from the sleeve notes "For the sake of instrumental tone fidelity and dynamic compliance, we chose to master this CD lower than usual (an average of -1 to 2 dB/ Enjoy and Appreciate"

Haven't got the CD yet, but the album's on Deezer, so it accompanied me on the 21A (City Centre - Sandy Road) this morning. Good stuff.

And they've got brand new buses on the 21A, so no intrusive background noise either.

Good stuff, there's moments of Bela Fleck + the Flecktones creeping in when the Banjo wades in. No bad thing IMO.

Interestingly, given the above, when ripping my copy via EAC, several of the tracks were max at 100%, and they all failed to match the CRC from freedb. I wonder if there has been a remastering and the above quote is no longer the case, and I wonder if the quartet know that?

I've got the manager's email address if you want to drop 'em a line Nick :-)

I contacted the fella to see if he'd be getting the Band back over here but as he explained its too expensive for them to gig in the UK doing the little venues like they did last time.

My CD arrived today and it sounds fine completely to the standard of recording I've come to expect from Hadouk. Really nice new album albeit quite laid back and mellow compared to Utopies. The last track, Blueberry Hill was a bit of a treat. Lovely interpretation.

Thanks for the tip off earlier, DTB!

My pre order finally arrived today, just put it on. Sounds lush, added 'vocals' intriguing.....

Hmmm, I'll have to listen to that again. By the way, I really love the final track being their take on Blueberry Hill. Great fun!

Today I've been on Fluvius.....as you say, it shows the beginnings of the Hadouk style. I also listened to Shamanimal which is absolutely fantastic, or as you say.....Awthume :D

This a collection to be cherished. I even went out a bought some proper jewel cases.
