#16 Re: Ant's Latest Lenco Build
Not THE metallica track!
When it was here i did try it with some orchestral stuff that does a similar thing, being reduced to an amorphous glob of noise if the deck cant keep a grip on things.
One was mars by the london philharmonic orchestra that is an odd recording. The brass can sound like their mic has a 6 foot length of drainpipe attached to it and that the cello is playing in a different room but it hung together properly and didnt degenerate into that amorphous noise that you cant seem to sort into a coherent form.
I think that the conversion just lets the arm and cart do its stuff while remaining neutral and providing a solid grip on the fundamentals from hearing 4 of the 5 different forms of it that have been put together ( lenco rega mc10, lenco rega shure, lenco mayware shure and lenco ekos mc10)
It played everything i threw at it which i was quite happy about
Looking good
Cheers ant

Aye, Nothing Else Matters. No dramas, the Lenco just played it .
It wasn't till Sue came in and said it was very loud that I realised all the window upstairs were open and the neighbours were being treated to a bit of S&M live. Not sure it would be their cup of tea TBH...
