#1 CD ROM

Post by pre65 »

My CD transport is a computer DVD ROM in a small computer case with a SMPS power supply and a Chinese display unit and remote control.

Now, are there better quality CD/DVD readers out there at reasonable price ?

OR, might I be better considering something like a used Pioneer DV-737 which seems to be well regarded as a CD transport ?

If you can define "better", "quality" and "reasonable" then maybe there is a answer :-)

Maybe the question should be do I want to try making a CD player with a used Pioneer DV-737. :D

Not sure how much 'better' a computer DVD drive can be for just CD use. On the basis that's pretty mundane for a DVD drive. I'm guessing.

I read somewhere that a Laserdisc player was good for playing CDs. :?
