New SE With Triode Mode KT120/150
#241 Re: New SE With Triode Mode KT120/150
If that's me steve .. well... thanks
I'm glad it's worked out ok... my only suggestion to 'improve' it would be a pair of vt75s (kt66).

The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

No. But I've thought one would be rather useful a number of times

Right,
The finishing touches have been put into both power supplies, after reading and digesting the DHT Rob tutorial on using PSUD.
The input stage has a 50KHz..ish, HF cutoff filter placed immediately before the series resistor feeding the two glow tubes that provide a stabilised 200V for the MH4s
The output stage has the same filter placed at the end of its power supply.
Sims below: The 3.3uF caps are high quality silver foil/oil jobbies.
It would have been the bees knees I'd had four of the caps, then I could have put a filter next to each valve, but I've made do with one per stereo pair of valves.
It all sounds great; in fact I'm quite bowled over by it. It'll do very nicely thank you.

wierdest thing Steve...I just had to reload psud after the rebuild last week and the upgrade to win10..so I thought I'd just make sure it works....and this is what I got copying your PS

it doesn't match your voltage at all..are you doing something special?

The voltage is about the same on mine after the current step. I see a current step on your current sink, but none on the graph.

However the supply is wrong. Somehow, the resistor has changed to 220R and the cap C2 should be 300uF.
WTF?
I’ll have to put it right.

close up after 2.5 secs is a bit up and down though
we have posts overlapping....I've adjusted my plot with the delay corrected.

And the rectifier is wrong too. RIGHT
I'll put them up again corrected. I may be some time.
Good job you happened to be setting up your own software. I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

I doubt that all of those caps are 2 ohms ESR .. in fact I'm not sure any would be quite that high.

That’s the default and basically I couldn’t be arsed to change them.IslandPink wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 7:43 pm I doubt that all of those caps are 2 ohms ESR .. in fact I'm not sure any would be quite that high.

That's entirely up to you Steve, but the more accurate the information you give the chart the better it is for the end result.Cressy Snr wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 8:02 pmThat’s the default and I couldn’t be arsed to change them.IslandPink wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 7:43 pm I doubt that all of those caps are 2 ohms ESR .. in fact I'm not sure any would be quite that high.
