I'll wager you didn't see this coming

I give you the mk2 mouse trap.

No resident as yet, but I'm supremely optimistic.

The little fella's been getting very cheeky of late and steals the bait out of all the humane traps I've tried so far. I have a rubbish bin(Sainsbury bag) hanging from one of the kitchen cupboard door handles. The bottom is about 2 inches above the floor. I've heard a rustling on occasion and when I've investigated I've found the little chap on his hind legs trying to tear a hole in the bottom of the bag. My presence doesn't deter him, so the Mem Sahib insists I get rid of him. His punishment will be the same as all his predecessors: Instant deportation to the colonies(the railway embankment some distance).
There's nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be
