Don't forget, although I'm happy with the KLS3's I've sampled the full-range (or wide-range) qualities with the neofone in a BR and a BiB and can see the strengths of the approach. Ultimately I may go this route though the neofone wasn't good enough. I'm always looking on ebay for other drivers by ...

Yep, that would be interesting. That DAC has gone to its owner, but I might build myself one.

I am trying to walk a line here between coming over as opinionated and patronizing, but I also know how much effort you have put in the past into getting a good sound, and I would hate you to go in the wrong direction because I refrained from posting something. I still think that with your speakers ...

The fact that its in push pull is the factor that makes the direct comparison unreliable.

i've been side tracked this week( along with a new harley) by an old tranny amp i've had in the garage... Remind me again, other than the Harley and collection of 300a and px25 valves, why I should not come round and kick your tyres, a bke (and given my stature a Harley seemed the obvious choice) w...

Yes, I am not for one moment suggesting the amps in question will not be great amps, I think a properly done 300b SET can be wonderous and those look like they are properly done. Its just the "different speakers" aspect. But thinking about the people I know I think are using 300b SET amps ...

Oh, I agree with that, Nick. I've heard Greg's 2A3 amp with his KLS3's and didn't think it was as good as the PP. It didn't seem to have the same control and that's my worry about the 300B SET. Yes, thats my concern as well, I think what worries me is the thought that a 7W 3000b amp would have trou...

Don't know in your case, but I know the Canon printer at work needed the chip removing from the old cartridge and inserting in the new one. I would guess it varies on a printer by printer case.

and this hasn't thrown up any volume issues
Hard to explain, but its less of a volume issue, the difference in volume between 7W and 12W is minimal. its more a issue of how it sounds when producing that power.

Problem is, we can't answer the question about how it will sound :-(

You may need to replace the chip in the new cartridge with the one from the old cartridge.

I use a continuous ink system on my Canon printer and it works very well, but it may not be worth it if the cartridge has lasted "some years". But I have used cheaper colour cartridges in the past and the colour is not as good (at least thats what I have found)

Not offended, but I will disagree. Next you will be suggesting that these two are not blues men by the same logic.
