Sorry, I'm confused, do you mean the emitter follower after the volatge buffer or the "gyrator"?

thanks

Philip, Here it is, you need to get a copy of Duncan Amps TDSL. Do a google for Duncan Amps.

EDIT Whoops PDF too big for the BB limits, but the advice holds and Steve got there anyway.

Hi Nick, Yes, I had the same thought, emitter follower, similar to the AR and CJ idea, I think, more study really required on my part. I need some better test gear, to be sure, but I don't feel comfortable with the LM317 on its own. Reminds me, I must fix my scope. Yes I agree 200mA should also be f...

Lets talk regulators.

As we know Nick's had good results from the classic series pass valve reg with pentode error amp type documented by Steve Bench. I have, with limited success, managed to get about 70mA 'usable current' out of a 'floated' LM317 this goes into a high speed op amp configured as voltage driver thus elim...

European Triode Fest - sort of Witham fest but more organized than we are, personally I like our organic approach to these events, that's part of the fun.

Its going again, still has humm, but I've managed to get well over an hour out of it without the regs throwing their rattles out of the preverbial pram. The humm is about surface level noise, intrusive but low enough to be able to really enjoy a couple of sides. I need to increase the pentodes' B+ a...

Hi Nick, Thanks, these regs are currently in the live fast die young category, well at this current they are. Pentode first stage is 60mA @ 220v for the D3A or 70mA @ 150v for the E810F. Aikido second stage is 70mA @ 200-220v ish still to be finalised. I'm going to go for 200v at this point and wind...

OK I fixed the regs again, I got a nice pile of dead LM317s and MJE340 now and even a few dead zeners. I think I found the problem. I'm drawing about 100mA, now this had me fooled because its only about 70mA for each stage but the regulators cost about 30mA per stage, about 8-10mA for the voltage bu...

Well it did until the current draw of the 6H30s got too much for a reg again. :(

Hi Tony,

Very kind of you, it's (will be) for the power supply, so I need to end up with 5v, probably acording to your document from about 8v after my 3 legged reg. Let me know what I owe you inc. any postage.

I'm pretty sure I've got the op amp, I'll check.

cheers,
