Though you will need to beware of high capacitance cables with those, Ah right, appreciate what you're saying, so last night I did a quick investigation - measured a random piece of twin-core and got about 50pF per metre. So say 500pF for 10 metres. 500pF has a reactance of 16 kilohms @ 20 kHz. But...

Re: Parafeed Conversion

WD25T Crossover Bits

Apologies for starting this here but there doesn't seem to be any other references to WD25T apart from where Nick first mentioned it Well that was strange! Finally got a sensible reply from Veronica Wittenbrink @ ICW (isn't that a fabulous name?) Anyway she says oo no don't try get the caps from us,...

Yep okay, I get it ~ so the o/p TX can be like an ungapped PP type as I figured. Yes that's one of the problems with SE TX's is you would like a better magnetic circuit, but you can't get it cos you must have a gap. And the bigger the current the bigger the problem. I kind of get the impression this...

1,400V @ 350mA? http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/images/misc/huh.gif   Strewth... Hold on chaps, it just happens that the TX has four 5V windings on it. I'm sure you could equally as well use 12V. Just needs a bit more 'padding out' http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/images/misc/smile.gif

I'm getting confused again, what's the advantage of a parafeed over a SE transformer?
