Yep that looks sweet ! and I'm jealous of your nifty use of that WD PSU box - neat.
Now let's keep things simple and n.b. all things (including pain <and pleasure>) pass - don't try to hang onto things. They come, they go. And so do we!
And if it still hums, hit it with a big hammer!

I'm no expert and here's a for example why... I think I posted that the cap/resistor could go to the positive end of the heater. I did my GK71s to the negative end of the heater (contrary or what -hm) Are you saying then, that both ways work and one sounds better? I'd go with what sounds better. Tho...

I know, that's your excuse and you are sticking to it. I googled your doggerel and found all sorts of sweet poems, (from some sort of word match, I suppose), without finding the actual one you quote. You've lost me on Tupac but Stephen Dedalus' real 'great artificer' is a favourite. Anyway here's th...

Well lookeeehere, it seems to me that things need to get much simpler. All those sexy little sinner chokes of the milliHenry variety are all very well but really their job is to a) look good and b) deal with r.f., hash and other noises. Its yer basic filter of big cap and Henrys sized Chokes that ta...

Local fest is definitely called for. The good thing about Philip's place is not that his listening room in a dead good size, nor that he lets us take over the kitchen to brew coffee and cook samozas, nor is it his excellent soup, his kind hearted tolerance of those considerably younger than himself ...

rock n Rolled out of bed this morning. Now why dooes that cure the prob? I am well aware of, for example, the rf-ishnes of 6S45PE and 5842; kind of in the nature of things. Grid leaks have to be as close as possible and I solder all the internal connections together, once trying 100ohms resistors to...

Well 26s are the very devil to get right and although I have (up to a satisfactory point), I think you should just start again, make things smaller and don't worry about this star earth stuff. I don't think I have ever used a star earth and I certainly don't bother with snubbers. Your wiring is alwa...

I suppose some of you are wondering where the output transformers are! Well I tell ya ... They are underneath! I screwed things in above and things in below so the whole amp is smaller than it normally would be. I think I need a mains switch somewhere too. One hour in and the heater transformer is n...
