Re: Malware cleaner.

We've followed the mitigation advice and disabled AMT for now.

Re: dc offset

Anybody got a feel for the effects of an offset in an early stage
I would guess it would be entirely dependent on what follows it.

Re: Feedback with Battery Bias

I think its more likely the cross connecting of the feedback is the reason for the fault. If the resistors were metal film, I have seen them fail many times at far lower than their dissipation because of a surge of current. I wonder of you created a multivibrator type of circuit with the cross conne...

Re: Feedback with Battery Bias

Going back a step, it sounds like you have connected the left output to the right feedback and vice versa, and that may have caused some huge motorboating, Surprised at the damage its caused though. In what way is the output TX damaged? If I understand what you have said, the feedback happened after...

Re: Nothing In Particular

It's funny how one word can start a chain reaction. The word today was "charabanc" (re happiness Stan) and that reminded me of Fiddlers Dram "day trip to Bangor" and thence to YouTube and Steeleye Span and the Barron Knights and ----------. Only Phil can start at the Small Faces and end up at...

Must have sneaked up closer while we were asleep.

So it looks like I need to get out 'Ogden's nut gone flake' for a spin ?
Always a good idea. You should get Shadows and Light out after that.

Is the 1k cathode resistor normally bipassed with a cap?

What is the full circuit?

Re: Forgotten Amps.

That was a Quad weak point as the original spec resistors are marginal (7W from memory)
If I remember they were designed to get hot, unsolder them self and fall out if a valve failed.

Re: Vacuum transistors ?

If I could really choose and was a gigging superstar I would use the old stuff. That would remove you from the target market of the modelling amps though. The VOX modelling amp I used when playing at the blues jam night was just so useful, I only needed four of so good enough sounds, but to do the ...

Re: WAD Phono2 power supply.

100uf will probably be more than enough. The larger the values, the more the peak charging current (and the shorter time over which the spike happens), if you want to increase any, leave the first one as it is and increase the later ones.

Re: solar charging

So the cpu could sleep while its not being nagged by the receiver. Maybe the receiver is pulling most of that current. If it is there is not much to be saved I guess unless you can find a lower power receiver. This one seems to need 10ma or less if its waiting https://www.rfsolutions.co.uk/radio-mod...
