TUBE/VALVE AMPLIFIERS BY ANDRE JUTE

THE KISS AMP 300B project is an attempt to take the tube amp designer by the hand and lead him through all the highways and byways of designing an ultrafi amp, including the thought processes, the math and the development. It is half-engineering course, half metaphysics, half bloodyminded prejudice and alltogether infuriatingly complex because the simplicity of KISS has a very high price. It has its own index page for the text and another for the illustrations. You will find the majority of the most useful core articles in the old Jute on Amps site in The KISS Amp 300B files, rearranged and rewritten to make the interdependence of tube design decisions manifest.

'Minus Zero' This is my T68bis 417A single tube micropower single ended amplifier, one-third watt to drive horns as in the T91 HWAF3 below. For the T68bis you need three files: photographs with notes and circuit schematic and basic layout and wiring suggestion.

T39-KISS-300B-Ultrafi-crct.jpg The KISS Amp 300B 'Ultrafi' circuit. Two-stage, all-triode, single-ended, zero negative feedback, ultra-silent tube amplifier with Western Electric WE417A high-mu triode and WE300B DHT, Mullard GZ37 tube rectification, with twin-choke smoothing (zero electrolytic capactiors, of course!). This is also the control amp (think of a 300B pre-amp) which boosts my 75W SE SV-572-xx amp into life. Extended description in THE KISS AMP 300B.

T44bis-'Populaire'-crct.jpg The T44 from my old Modular Tube Amplifier Series 300B "Lundahl" brought up to date and redesigned to be a stereo amp. This is the standard of a silent single-ended directly heated triode 300B amplifier. Extended description in THE KISS AMP 300B.
